Overview
Mechanical Engineering is the broadest of the engineering disciplines. Mechanical Engineers learn to solve engineering problems in the area of design and manufacturing, automation, robotics and thermal fluid engineering. BITS Pilani Dubai campus offers three tier structure of education i.e., BE in Mechanical Engineering, M.E. in Design Engineering and Ph.D in Mechanical Engineering. We educate the engineers of tomorrow by integrating class room teaching, laboratory experiments and hands-on projects. Emphasis is on the process of learning and critical thinking to promote collaborative relationships with industries and other universities. Students are exposed to work in professional environments through 30 weeks of Practice School (internship) programs in industries.
Mechanical Department hosts student chapters of various professional bodies such as Mechanical Engineering Association (MEA), American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) and BITS Aerospace Society (BAEROS). Through these associations, students get introduced to current research and trends in different engineering disciplines.
