BITSAA UK is a strong community passionate about BITS and what it stands for! We, as a community, are elated to be setting up a merit-cum-need scholarship for the students across our campuses in India.
Our goal via this scholarship is to:
- Enable meritorious students with a financial need to study at BITS,
- Help BITSians to consider the UK as a destination for Masters/MBA/Ph.D. or employment, and
- Strengthen the relationship between the BITSians in the U.K. and across the world We have committed to raising over INR 20 lakhs for this scholarship.
We humbly encourage all BITSians living in the UK to come forward, contribute, and make this scholarship a success - entirely for the benefit of the hard-working students back home! Any amount that helps us move closer to the target amount would be much appreciated!
A few details about the Scholarship:
- Scholarship to be awarded per semester on a merit-cum-need basis
- A minimum CGPA of 8.0 is required for the students to be eligible for this scholarship
- To begin with in 2022, we want to award the scholarship to 1-2 first-year students per campus (Pilani, Goa, Hyderabad) completing their 1-2 (first year-second semester in July 2022) and become eligible for the award in September 2022 - so please make your donations asap!
- The scholarship aims to cover 25% of the semester (tuition) fees for each student We'll keep updating the timelines for the next cohort so the donors are made aware of the details in time
Tax Benefits
At present, we shall be able to provide 100% tax benefits for India, USA, and Canada. You can also donate from anywhere in the world to this campaign, but we shall not be able to provide tax benefits on your donation. We would soon be adding more countries, so please watch out for this space.
